This workshop will introduce many of Ireland’s native and non-native tree and shrub species. Learn how to identify trees and shrubs during the winter months, when there is no foliage to assist in the identification. Following an introduction, overview, and insight into key identification features of Ireland’s trees and shrubs, you will take part in field work to test your identification skills with the help of tutors.
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch; refreshments will be provided.
Clothing: Sturdy walking boots or wellingtons. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor terrain.
Health & Safety: Please be mindful that this workshop includes an element of teaching outdoors. Warm waterproof clothing and good walking footwear are essential. As a rule of thumb, it is generally expected that any participants who sign up for a workshop that involves spending time in the outdoors will own and bring the appropriate outdoor clothing. A risk assessment for this event has been completed and participants are asked to listen carefully to the safety briefings that are delivered on the day.
Kindly note that the event may be cancelled if the minimum registration requirement of 10 is not met.
